In the late 60s I became interested in showing dogs – Alsatians under the prefix Riversley. In 1974 I married Anne and our interest turned to gundogs, English Setters and Pointers shown under the prefix Sarabande. Then came the toys, we owned and showed the UK’s first Bichon Frise champion and a number of Maltese.
It wasn’t until the early 80s that we owned our first WSS - a dog who was the breed’s top puppy and junior. The arrival of Jack in 2003 saw us win our first CC in the breed and with the arrival of Harvey in 2004 our first WSS Show Champion. He has 11 CCs and 8 Res CCs and was top WSS male 2010. Rose arrived 18 months ago and has just won her 3rd CC making her a Show Champion at just 21 months. I award CCs in 3 Gundog breeds and am on a number of breed B judging lists.
